Specialty Vehicles

Purpose-built vehicles have work to do. Give their downtime, value, and overlooked expenses a closer look.

Heavy truck being towed in an industrial yard

Built for a particular job.

Specialty vehicles serve purposes that a standard passenger car or freight truck may not. Their equipment, conversions, and operating records help explain how an incident affected their use.

Bill reviews the vehicle, the interruption, and the available records before discussing whether the claim fits his consulting work.

Specialty vehicles include:

  • Ambulances, fire apparatus, and mobile command units
  • Utility bucket trucks, vacuum trucks, tow trucks, and service-body trucks
  • Mobile clinics, bloodmobiles, mobile laboratories, and bookmobiles
  • Food trucks and mobile retail/service units
  • RVs, wheelchair-accessible vans, and passenger transport vehicles with specialized conversions
  • Construction or industrial equipment built on a truck chassis, such as crane trucks or drilling rigs
  • Low-speed utility, off-road, agricultural, airport, or site-maintenance vehicles

Bring the records that explain the vehicle’s role.

Start with the incident report, repair documents, and a description of the vehicle’s normal use. Include equipment or conversion details and any records of interrupted work, substitute arrangements, or related expenses.

Each file is reviewed individually. The vehicle category alone does not establish a recoverable loss or guarantee payment.
